Five Things Friday

1. Linen blazers are one of my favorite trends for Spring. Here are a few (at all different price points) I’ve got my eye on! (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

2. It’s crunch time making decisions on our new house, and of course, I’m making last minute BIG changes ha. Is anyone really surprised about that? ;) We decided to go with a white exterior, white windows, and light metal roof… I know, not what you were expecting? Me either! But the more I’ve developed the interior, the more I realized the exterior style needed to match how the inside was coming together. I can’t wait to share more with you! This week we’re ordering lighting! I think I’m the most excited about our dining room fixture (and yep, I’ve changed it yet again since I posted our dining room design board).

3. Here are a few things I’m loving from H&M for the transition to Spring (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

4. Aymee and I are headed to Bend this weekend to check in on our Brokentop project. It’s a quick trip, but I can’t wait to see how things are coming along. We have our install in three weeks!

5. A few of my top pins from the week loaded with inspiration…

Have a great weekend!

Five Things Friday

1. Let’s start with what I’ve been pinning lately… We’ve got a few wildly different large projects in the works, so I’ve been compiling lots of inspiration!

2. We are slowly making progress on our new house. I’m wanting to get everything finalized in the kitchen first (have I mentioned that I’ve changed the kitchen design a million times?). We are going for a warm, organic, European vibe. I’ve been collecting a lot of inspiration from Devol Kitchens (our faucet is from there)! Currently I’m stuck between “mushroom” and “gray” cabinets… What’s your vote (keep in mind, our hood will be white)! This is the last decision to make in the kitchen.

3. I may not have our cabinet color nailed down, but I do however have our drinking glasses, dinner plates, and a few other accessories (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) purchased for our kitchen. HA.

4. I made this banana bread yesterday and it is SO GOOD. I substituted gluten-free flour (the Namaste gluten free blend from Costco), flax egg for regular eggs, and chocolate chips for pecans to make it “allergy friendly” from our family. I wasn’t sure how all the substitutions would turn out, but it actually turned out great! We will definitely be making it again. The recipe is from the Magnolia Table Cookbook. Another great recipe from that cookbook is the Mac N Cheese… Oh baby. But don’t make the Mac N Cheese if you’re on a diet ;)

5. I am so ready for spring, anyone else? Madewell is having their 15% off sale for insiders this weekend, and I’ve got my eye on some spring items… because I’m in denial it’s snowing outside (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

Have a great weekend!

Five Things Friday

1. We had an install earlier this week for our Spring Drive Project. You guys, I know I say this every time, but this might be my favorite project we’ve done! It was an older home, that needed it’s original charm restored, and we did our best to revive the home to it’s fullest potential. Here are a few photos I snapped on my iPhone, professional photos to come in the next few weeks.

2. After the reveal on Wednesday night, Jim and Brad took Aymee and I out for an early Valentines dinner to celebrate. Yesterday, Brad and I celebrated by staying up after we put the kids down to eat some fancy takeout and ice cream in our sweatpants ;) and honestly, I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything else. It was nice to just relax and hang out together.

3. I get a lot of questions about vintage inspired art… here are a few pieces I’m loving! (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

4. We have a presentation early next week for an updated traditional style home. The home owner has used words like “simple, warm, cozy, and updated”… all words I love. Here's some inspiration pictures for the presentation.

5. I haven’t posted earrings in a while, here are some I’ve got my eye on (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

Have a great weekend!

Five Things Friday

1. There is a snow storm headed our way next week and I’m definitely not ready for it. Monday-Wednesday we have a big install, and adding the extra layer of a winter wonderland on a very private road sounds a bit challenging ;) but, our teams got this! We’ve got a team of people lined up, ready to rock! I’m so glad I got snow shoes for Christmas, they’re going to come in handy this week. If you need a pair, these are the ones I have and love. While inside, I’ll be wearing these comfy shoes (and I’m sure Aymee will too, we have the same pair ha. They are worth the splurge if you’re always on your feet).

2. Speaking of Monday, we also have a presentation for an entire main level and exterior remodel. I just finished up the mood board/hard finish selections, and I’m getting excited to present it to our clients! Here’s some inspiration for this modern, curated home.

3. Are you a morning routine person? What is it? This question always seems to comes up. I’ve always been someone who likes routine, and with little kids, the only time I can have a consistent routine is if I wake up before they do. My alarm goes off at 5:04am every morning (I don’t know why the :04… I just do?). I wake up, brew some coffee and froth some half and half (best purchase of my life… my milk frother, it’s worth every penny of the $20 I spent on it). I spend some time reading and journaling, getting myself mentally and spiritually prepared for the day. Then I either do yoga or strength training via youtube (there’s a million resources on there). Then I get ready for the day. I find that if I get this time in before everyone else is up, I can give a lot more throughout my day, and show up for the people I need to be there for. Do you have a morning routine?

4. Tonight we’re celebrating February birthdays in our family, and for the past few years I’ve made this vegan/gluten-free carrot cake that is THE BOMB. Now my secrets out that it’s both vegan and gluten-free… it’s so good, no one can ever tell.

5. Madewell is having their Valentines sale, here are a few of my favorites (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

Have a great weekend!

Five Things Friday

1. This color palette is really inspiring me. I love everything about this look.

2. Pinterest is great and all, but sometimes I prefer to flip through the pages of a design book or magazine. I like to mark pages with sticky notes and paper clips for specific projects. I currently have a mile high list of all the design books I’d like to add to my collection. Here are a few I have saved on Amazon (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

3. We are working on some really fun projects in 2019, and this Rustic-Modern Farmhouse on Martha’s Vineyard is giving me MAJOR inspiration. All the natural textures, creamy whites, and open spaces make for a timeless, cozy home.

4. The other day at one of our virtual design meetings (did you all know we offer virtual design now?), Kristina showed me her purse organizer. It’s the greatest invention ever!

5. I tend to wear a lot of neutrals, so adding a little print can be fun. I am loving leopard print right now! (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

We are headed to the beach for a day, and I’m really looking forward to some time with the family. Have a great weekend!
