Five Things Friday

1. We've finally decided on vertical board and batten for our exterior siding on our new house! I'm so excited! Here are some pictures of how it will look!  TBD on the color.

2. I've been all about wearing scarves these days in my hair.  One of the reasons is because I can go another day without washing it ;) Praise the Lord for dry shampoo, am I right? Here are a few scarves I'm loving (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), and a few ways I love to wear them.


3. I found the perfect fall sweater... it's literally the sweater of my dreams (stripes, my favorite colors, and it's flowy).  I can't wait to wear it!  Here are a few more sweaters I love for fall (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

4. We're working on a vacation home in BEND that I'm over the moon excited about! We met with our client this week, and it was fun hearing all about her hopes and needs for the space.  Envision lots of natural elements, black and whites, and modern mountain design.  I've been pinning all week, here are a few inspiration pictures I've already saved for when I start designing the project.

5. Whenever I get asked how I'm "juggling" it all, I laugh.  Because, frankly, I'm not.  I have a really supportive husband, a babysitter, and I have to say "no" to a lot of things these days.  This picture below is my life in a nutshell. Loud, crazy, exhausting... but perfect to me.  We all need to be more "real" on the internet.  Aymee and I try our best to be ourselves in this small space of influence we have on the web, and want everyone to feel comfortable and invited.  We do the same in our design.  We want our designs to be inviting, comfortable, and authentic.  We never want our clients to feel intimidated or embarrassed of their homes, because our job is to go into peoples homes and transform them into the best versions they can be.

Five Things Friday

1. Once again, I'm late to the game on posting, but better late than never, right? Happy Labor Day!  There are lots of amazing sales going on this weekend, all furniture at Anthropologie is 20% off, and McGee and Co is offering 15% off all rugs, furniture, and wall decor.  Here are a few of my favorites from both places! (dining chairs, coffee table, rug, accent chair, sofa, pouf, shelves, abstract art, glacier art, backroads art).

2. We have handmade tiles going in some of our upcoming installs, and I AM OBSESSED. I find them SO beautiful, and give so much texture to a space.  Here are a few spaces I've pinned recently with handmade tile.

3. We had family pictures taken on Sunday, and Kayla from Roper Made, sent me over a few preview shots.  Kayla has been taking our family pictures ever since Karis was born, every single year.  Its been so fun to see how our family shoots have evolved from mild chaos, to absolute chaos.  One good shot is a win in my book!  Here's a few she sent over.  

4. Aymee and I were talking about how much Old Navy is killing it lately with their jeans.  This weekend, all jeans/tees/sweatshirts/dresses are 50% off.  I jumped on that sale, because momma can afford Old Navy 50% off, and momma needs new jeans... and a few more black and white striped shirts ;) Here's what's in the mail, all together under $60! (1, 2, 3, 4)... I may have also snagged this sweater (Aymee has the same one in camel)!

1. Brad and I have officially moved out of our house, are living with my parents (bless them!), and are about to get started on our new house!  It has been a whirlwind of a summer to say the least, but a really rich one too.  On a note about our new house, I can't decide on a black metal roof or a silver metal roof. HELP! What's your pick?

2. We are remodeling a master bedroom that I'm really excited about!  The couple didn't want it to feel too feminine or masculine, and wanted the room to be a complete retreat for the both of them.  Here are a few of the pieces we put in the design (bed, chair, quilt, fan, rug).

3. I've been all about dresses this summer, and Anthropologie has all of their dresses 20% off this weekend!  Here are a few of my favorites (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

4. I can't shake this kitchen designed by Katie Martinez.  This open shelf placement is spot on, and those tiny drawers are genius.


5. Aymee and I are always running around for our job, so comfy sneakers are a no brainer (especially on install days)!  Aymee just got this pair, and I have my eyes on these.

Five Things Friday

1. It's good to be back! Karoline Faye was born on May 29th, and we couldn't be more in love.  She is perfection, and we feel so blessed to call her ours.  She's officially the new Light and Dwell mascot, making her first debut to our install this past Sunday.


2. My first day back we had an install for a waiting room.  It feels so good to be back at work.  I'm so thankful for a job that I love, and that our team is such a great support system.  We were all happy with how the waiting room turned out, and I was extra grateful for my team (and their hubby's) who loaded and unloaded the truck in 90 degree heat!  Now that's love.

3. It's the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (and every other person is blogging about it), so why not share some of my favorites from the sale too?  Here are my top 8 picks under $100 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

4. We have a HUGE home renovation going on in Corvallis, and right now I'm at the beginning stages of putting together the design for it.  It's an older home, with lots of charm.  Here's some inspiration I've gathered for the laundry/kitchen so far.

Five Things Friday

1. Its been a very busy week for us!  We launched our new pillow line (make sure you visit our online store to shop the new line), I've been finishing up some big designs before going on maternity leave, and this weekend we have a huge install.  It always seems to go this way, everything gets piled into one week, but I love every minute of the crazy!


2. Speaking of our new pillow line, we've already sold out of a few!  But don't worry, we will be restocking those in a few weeks.  If you haven't already entered our pillow giveaway on instagram, make sure you do that before the weekend ends!

3. This weekends install is going to be a big one!  Both Aymee's family and my family will be coming on Friday to help load and unload the U-Haul (plus a few more people!)... it takes a village!  Install days feel like Christmas to me!  It takes months and months of work to pull off this weekend, and when I start placing product in the spaces, it just gets me so excited.  Here are a few pieces I can't wait to see in our clients home (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

4. We met with our builder last night, and I keep going back and forth between a white cabinets and dark cabinets. We don't need to make any decisions now, but my heart says dark while my mind says white. Why is it so much easier to make decisions for clients? Decisions, decisions, decisions... and to be totally honest, I'm just so unbelievably grateful to even get to make this decision. Which one... White? Dark? What would you choose?

5. This weeks Five Things Friday post will be the last one until late July!  I'm really taking a break when the baby arrives, and plan to spend my maternity leave away from all things work related (although, it will be hard for me!).  Speaking of baby, here are a few things I have packed for the hospital (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).
