29th Street Bonus Room Reveal

It’s time to reveal our 29th Street Bonus Room! This project was for a returning client, who wanted their upstairs bonus room to be used multi-purposely. Our clients wanted it to be a comfortable hang out space for their kids, family, and friends to enjoy, a work space, and a guest room. In order to make that happen, we decided to break it up by making half of the space moody and dark with shiplap walls, and the other half is bright and comfortable. The work station and large storage closet are primarily in the dark half of the room, while the entertainment space is in the light half of the room. Our clients had tears of joy at the reveal, which is the best feeling in the world! We know this space will get a lot of use, and we’re so happy it’s done for everyone to enjoy.

Now for the before and after pictures… Let’s start with the after.

Kidd New Build / Kitchen Inspiration

When I say I’ve had a few sleepless nights thinking about the design of our kitchen, that’s an understatement… I have gone back and forth, in lots of different directions with this space, because it means SO much to me. The kitchen is the heart of the home, and our family has a lot of serious food allergies and an auto-immune disease, so having a safe, functional, beautiful kitchen is really important to us. I see it as a place for our family to find comfort and safety (since we can rarely eat out). I see it as a place where we will entertain and make lots of memories. Design is so much more than making a space “look good”, it’s about creating an environment that makes you feel 100% comfortable, inspired and at home. I think I’m finally getting somewhere with our kitchen, and boy… I’m excited about it!

Kidd New Build / Interior Hard Finishes

This board isn’t the most “interesting”, but it helps to see everything laid out together for our interior hard finish selections. They are definitely still subject to change, and there are some unique selections that aren’t on the board, but we’ll share those later :)

Office She-Shed / Interior

Last week we shared the exterior inspiration and design board for Aymee’s Office She-Shed. This week, we are sharing the interior. When thinking about this space, we wanted it to function as a work space for at least two people. The space needed a built-in work counter (bar height), open shelving, storage for a printer/scanner, a lounge chair, and oversized “idea” board.  Here’s the design board for the interior!
