In Ayms words… Enjoying a slow Saturday up in the mountains at the Black Buttee cabin, and wanted to make something I could share with our sweet neighbors. I like this recipe because in it she list’s a ton of variations depending on what is in your pantry and what you like! Enjoy!

4. The verdict is out on our Boll & Branch luxury sheets… YOU GUYS. THEY ARE SO COMFORTABLE! I’ve never bought “nice” sheets before, so when Boll & Branch sent Aymee and I each a set of sheets to try out, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Not only are they beautiful, but they’re really cozy. Both Ayms and I got the Solid Hemmed Sheet Set in white. There’s no going back now…

5. I’m always on the hunt for vintage rugs, and I found a few that are really affordable on Etsy! (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

1. Lots of things inspiring me lately…

2. Old Navy is having some great sales right now! Here are a few things that caught my eye (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16).

3. We installed the majority of our Fairhaven Drive Project last week, and it’s a project I can’t wait to share with you all! Revealing this project to the home owners was really special, because they have longed for a home to retreat and relax in for SO LONG. Watching our clients faces as they walked through the door was priceless. I can’t believe this is my job! It’s so much more than just “designing and styling a house”, it changes peoples lives for the better.

4. As promised, we are sharing a recipe from Aymee every week here on Five Things Friday!

Aymee’s first recipe but be advised…she always edits or swaps ingredients, she’s kind of a rebel. You’ve been warned.

Fun fact: Jim and Aymee lived in New Zealand for 3 years and had their oldest daughter Katee there. Lovely people, country, and FOOD! Aymee has picked up a “Kiwi” cookbook and is working through it. Kiwi’s were doing simple and healthy food before it was cool! This recipe is brought to you by request from Curtis, their 16 year old hungry and growing boy!

Cheesy Rocket Scones For Beginner Bakers

Original Recipe by Annabel Langbein

Prep Time 10 min

Cook Time 15-18 mins

Makes 12-16


4 cups flour

1 1/2 baking powder

1 tsp salt

A pinch of cayenne pepper

3 cups of arugula

2 cups cheese

1 cup chilled cream

1 cup soda water


Preheat 400 degree’s and line baking tray with paper.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cayenne, arugula, cheese.

Coming cream and soda water. Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the liquid and mix until combined.

Turn out on a floured surface and pat into a rectangle. Cut into 16 pieces and bake until puffed and golden brown about 15-18 min.

Great to freeze and I like to cut in half, put on some butter, and broil. Even add a slice to tomato! Enjoy!

5. A few items I’m thinking about for our master bedroom. We’ve never really had a “master bedroom/bathroom” before… and let’s be honest, Brad and I have been living in 300 sq. ft. of space at my parents house with 5 humans (3 under 5) for the past 14 months… So, anything “master-ish” feels like a luxury, and I’m having so much fun dreaming about that future space! Here’s what I’m thinking… (rug, bed, mirror, nightstands, sconces, quilt, end of bed stools, pillows).

Five Things Friday

1.My top inspiration from this week…

2. Aymee and I are big fans of JCrew! This year, they have some great items for fall! Here are a few fall favorites (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).

3. The Kidd House is getting drywall, and Brad has started the wall detail. You guys, it’s starting to look like a house, and I’m getting so excited! Can you believe its been 13 months since we moved out of our last house? I’m starting to see a light at the end of the building tunnel. I will share more details on how the wall detail is going in the weeks to come. One thing my husband has informed me of… Vertical shiplap is 5,00000000 times harder to install than horizontal… So, of course, I went with vertical everywhere ;)

4. Aymee’s on her way to Boise this weekend, taking her daughter, Abbee to college! I still can’t believe she only has ONE kid at home. What on earth?! If anyone knows any cool places to go in Boise, let us know!

5. We have an install next week! Here’s what I always have with me (comfy shoes, tee, sweatshirt, hair clips, tumbler, travel mug, ear pods, measuring tape, perfume roller, command strips, lipstick, and Lara bars).
