How To: Living Room Design & TV

Television is pretty important in our modern world - where would we be without late night binge watching or family movie screenings? But TVs aren’t always the easiest to decorate around. Our trick to designing around a TV? Disguise it!

We are big fans of the Frame TV for this purpose. With endless choices in art to display, it makes what is usually an eyesore, a literal piece of art. You can even swap out the bezel to match the style of your home.

So that solves the aesthetic of the TV itself but what about the rest of the space? Creating a design around a TV takes a little bit more work.

  1. Media Cabinet/Credenza: Select a piece that exceeds the length of your television by at least 6 inches on both sides. To free up more space for styling and and less cluttered look - we recommend mounting the television if you can. Check out our hanging guide for more specifics.

  2. Styling: Whether your tv is surrounded by built ins, a media cabinet or credenza, Styling will be the thing that brings the design to the next level. We suggest pairing a few coffee table books with a ceramic piece or two. Taper candles will help to bring some variance to the height of the vignette.
