terms of service

Shipping Policy

We ship within the continental United States, excluding Hawaii, and Alaska. Currently, we do not ship orders internationally. We cannot ship to a P.O. Box address. 

Light and Dwell provides delivery of merchandise through a number of different third-party delivery services. Light and Dwell is only a facilitator between the customer purchasing the merchandise and the delivery service being used. Light and Dwell  is not an agent for either and has no liability with respect to the delivery service. However, in the event an item arrives damaged or incorrect, Light and Dwell will coordinate a replacement, credit or refund based on circumstances.

Refused orders are subject to return freight & any applicable restocking fees. Delivery charges are not refundable for unsuccessful attempts. Customers must sign a “Proof of Delivery Note” that ensures that all goods have been inspected prior to signing and were received in good condition. Should any merchandise arrive damaged - it MUST be noted on the proof of delivery note. Once the “Proof of “Delivery Note” has been signed stating the merchandise arrived in good condition – Light and Dwell will not be responsible for any repairs, replacements, exchanges or returns of any kind. It is the customer or customer’s receiving person’s responsibility to inspect each item thoroughly at the time of delivery and notate any irregularities. Issues found after the delivery service has left will be the responsibility of the customers. Customers must alert Light and Dwell within 48 hours if damage is noted.

Please note that all lead times are approximate and are subject to change. Lead times are strictly quoted as production time only and do not include transit time. Please allow an additional 1-3 weeks for shipment. If multiple items are ordered together, the full order will ship once all items are completed.

Because of the organic nature of our furniture, natural materials like wood offer individual tones and graining, which brings a one-of-a-kind element to your goods. Each piece will vary and take stains a little differently. All of our furniture pieces are hand-crafted and hand-finished. We suggest ordering wood finish samples ahead of placing your order to affirm your selection.

Return Policy

All made to order items are final sale. Payment is made in full at the time the order is placed. Please contact shop@lightanddwell.com if you have any questions.

We personally inspect every item to ensure that it meets our quality standards. All made to order items ship via our delivery partner with white glove service. The shipping and handling fee are included in the purchase price. Light and Dwell will not be held responsible for any damages after the item(s) have left the shipping warehouse. It is the responsibility of the recipient to inspect all items before signing the bill of lading or allowing the driver to leave. Should any transit damage be discovered please contact us immediately at shop@lightanddwell.com and notate in thorough detail on the documentation of proof of delivery. Should you discover any damage after the delivery has been accepted without notating on the bill of lading we will not be able to file a damage claim with the appropriate company. Light and Dwell will accept responsibility for defective or damaged products if it is determined to be a manufacturing issue.

PRIVACY POLICY

At Light and Dwell we will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. Information submitted to us is only available to our employees and contracted service providers that are processing your order or tending to your other requests. If changes to this privacy policy are made, they will be posted on our website promptly.

Charges

Customer authorizes, understands, and agrees that all charges and fees as outlined in the Terms of Sale can be charged on the credit card provided at time of sale.

Taxes

If you seek a tax exemption, Light and Dwell requires that a completed, current Resale Certificate Form be submitted for every order where tax is being removed. We do not keep forms on file. Tax will not be removed from quotes or invoice until a completed form is submitted & approved.

Purchases

All purchases must be paid in full. Vintage merchandise is not eligible for return and is sold “as-is.”
