Round Top, Cottage in the Trees Update and Our Aesthetic

Our team is gearing up for Round Top and the end of next week, and we can hardly wait! Aymee and I went last year, and it was so much fun! We knew we had to go back… but had to bring our entire team this year! It’s hard to believe we now have 10 amazing people on our team, and everyone will be meeting up together for the first time next week!

A few photos from last year of some of my favorite memories. Looking forward to some great Texas BBQ, one of a kind pieces, and tons of laughter with so many amazing people!

This past week, Aymee and I stopped by her remodel (our Cottage in the Woods Project). She was generous enough to give me and the design team full reign to do our thing. Excited to share the progress and completion in the months to come! Just wrapped the furniture designs this week, I’ll share more of that soon!

It’s no secret, Doen is a favorite clothing brand for both me and Ayms. A few years ago when I started the sustainability journey, I started noticing companies that weren’t just making beautiful things, but also had impactful missions. Doen is one of those companies. They’re for all shapes and sizes, they’re a female ran company, and all of their workers/materials are thoughtfully curated and sustainable. The price point may be a bit steeper, but honestly, when you find those pieces you absolutely love and feel good in, you wear them over and over again, it’s worth it. It’s the same with interiors… you can buy a lot of “stuff”, but if you don’t know the story behind those pieces, it loses it’s meaning and worth really quickly.

A few of my favorite Doen pieces at the moment… And no, this isn’t a paid ad, I just really love their brand and when I find a brand I love, I want to share it!

This week I trained our design team on mood boards that are on brand. Here are the six I taught on that all fall under the “Light and Dwell Aesthetic”. These mood boards help our team know if a client is a good fit. It helps our clients identify what their “style” is under the Light and Dwell brand. It also helps train our designers to ensure that they’re on brand.

I love the designer meetings every week, we have such creative and talented designers… Aymee and I feel super lucky to have the team we have!

Have a great weekend!
