Record Temps, Pronghorn Soft Finishes, Utah European Exterior Updates, Summer Dresses, and a Corn Dip worth pinning.

What a week here in the PNW! We hit record temps of over 110 degrees in both Oregon and Washington! I’m sorry, but that’s just too hot. Us Oregonians are comfortable with 80-85 ;) But we made it! We survived! And if you were on the internet, you saw everyone and their mom talking about it… Because we’re all dramatic like that here when it comes to hot temperatures.

This week I’ve lived in dresses and sun hats! Anyone else? I’m so glad I picked up this vintage coat Bentwood coat rack at our local antique store a few weeks ago. Even though Brad thinks it looks like something that would be cleaning the Beasts castle from Beauty and the Beast… I find it charming ;)

This week I’ve been working on the soft finishes for our Pronghorn Project! The soft finishes are one of my favorite parts of a full service project. It’s where I can add layers, color, textures, and that personal “lived in” and “familiar” home our client is craving. This one is going to be SO GOOD. I already told the clients I’m moving in… whoops! Part of my creative process is printing off images, collecting samples, and pinning things up to my fabric boards next to my desk. There’s something about seeing everything together, in real life, versus on the computer. It helps me mix and match better, and I can see different patterns and textures taking on new life in rooms I maybe wasn’t expecting them to. You should see the inside of my desk, it’s piled high with images I have printed off over time of pieces/inspiration I’ve been collecting over time. Stay tuned for this rich, textured, mountain home!

Our Utah European Modern Project is looking SO good. The exterior is getting painted, and stone is going up. I’m going for a site visit in a few weeks, and I can’t wait to check in on the progress. Can’t wait to see the stone over-grouted!

Fourth of July is this weekend! Here’s a go-to corn dip I make every year. It’s SO good.

We’re celebrating with our neighbors and family! What are your plans? Stay safe and have fun!
